NASHVILLE!! Thanks to 102.9 The Buzz I won tickets from their “Take Our Tickets Tour” a few weeks back. I gotta say, to have a local radio station host events like this so people have a chance to enjoy concerts of their liking is top tier. If you haven’t tuned in already to The buzz I highly recommend you do.

Let me start by saying the FirstBank Amphitheater is thee most beautiful venue I have ever been to. This was my second time being submerged in the reclaimed limestone rock quarry. My first concert there was when I went to Sessenta for Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday celebration. Parking was a breeze. There was even a concession area in the parking lot. You were able to hangout before the show because parking opened at 3:30pm, gates opened at 5:30pm and the show was at 7:00pm. I would suggest wearing comfortable shoes because the parking lot is grass with a few rocks here and there and there’s a bit of walking before you get to the amphitheater. So I went with my platform sandals haha. Last time I wore different platform shoes and it was a mess. I ended walking across this grass field (we couldn’t remember where we parked) I got stuck in mud and ended up falling and welp it made for a funny memory.

I get inside scope out the area, take a photo by the guitar back drop, roamed around looking at merch and then I get to my assigned seat. This is where things get interesting. A usher approached me and I pulled out my phone assuming they are checking to see if I am in the correct area. I show him my ticket he asked if I was alone which I replied yes. He then offered me to upgrade my ticket I asked for how much and he said it was free so immediately I said yes! I went from section 305 to 103!! This is where I wanted to kick myself because originally I was going to bring my camera and I didn’t! I think that stems from when I flew out to Colorado for a Manson concert and brought my camera and it was a back and forth thing where they wouldn’t let me in because of my camera but settled for the risk of checking it in at coat check. Luckily I was able to retrieve my camera after the show.

Opening for Bush was James and the Cold Gun, a band from Cardiff, Wales. They are considered alternative rock with high energy! This was my first time hearing them and I enjoyed their set! They covered one of my all time favorite songs Lips Like Sugar by Echo & The Bunnymen. They had such a genuine and good vibe about them and I look forward to seeing them again.

James and The Cold Gun photographed by Rose

The second supporting act to take the stage was Mammoth. A hard rock alternative band based out of Los Angeles, CA that mixes in grunge. They have such powerful melodies that will have you grooving all about! When they preformed The Spell oh yeah I was under it! Fun fact if you didn’t know the lead singer Wolfgang Van Halen is the son of legendary Eddie Van Halen. Makes sense of how insane his talent on the guitar is. I was absolutely blown away by his riffs. It sent me to a whole new realm that’s how much it blew me away. I really love their song Distance. The lyrics are beautifully heavy. The song is an emotional tribute to his father Eddie Van Halen. This song makes me tear up every time. I’ve dealt with many losses in my life. Growing up I lost a lot of friends and family. My biggest grief is losing my best friend. When Distance plays its her that I reminisce about.

Now it’s time for the iconic 90’s British band that dominated Billboard Rock and Alternative charts, Bush.

    Photographed by Rose

The opening song was Machine head which Nik Hughes powerfully started off the night just slamming on the drums. Not only him but the rest of the band members gave it their all the whole set. The energy from Bush was so massive it intensified all your senses that there was no way to sit still, well at least not for me.

Kicking off the night with Machine head I felt thrown back in time. I’ve always wanted to see Bush live and it was surreal being in the presence of absolute legends!

Here is the set list for 5/15/2026

    Machinehead
    Bullet Holes
    Quicksand
    The Chemicals Between Us
    All Things Must Change
The Land of Milk and Honey
    The Sound of Winter
    Identity
    Everything Zen
    Human Sand
    Ghosts in the Machine
    Heavy Is the Ocean
    Glycerine (Full band version)
    Little Things
    Flowers on a Grave
    I Beat Loneliness

    Encore
    Swallowed
    More Than Machines
    Comedown

That’s 19 songs in total and the agility and high energy you have as an artist is just absolutely mind blowing. How do artist have the unstoppable stamina to continue such sets during concerts?! I always wonder how they feel during a show. Do they push through the feeling of their muscles and tendons burning or is the burn and energy from the crowd is what fuels them? Is it that the strain becomes something of non existence for them? I know when I put on my at home concerts while doing house work it’s like a workout within its self!

Gavin Rossdale really puts on a high energy show that’s impeccable. Gavin’s baritone blended with raspy, gravelly grit and passionate vocals with melodic deliveries will really make you understand why this band is notable. Even the moody baselines and then explosion of distorted choruses keep you hooked! There were fans of all ages that attended. Even my children who are 5 and 7 think this band rocks!

During the song Flowers On The Grave which is one of their most vulnerable songs written that has a couple of themes to it is a song I can align myself with. Especially coming from a perspective of going through a divorce dealing with that grief, isolation and coming back to finding yourself again is very relatable. There are parts of me I shut out but now are reopening and finding myself again and it’s artists like Bush that are helping me pave the way again.

Speaking of paving the way, During this song Gavin hopped off stage and into the sea of fans! Starting in the pit making his way over to my section up into the bleachers and back around the other side! What a core memory that we all collectively had that night!

Gavin making his rounds in the crowd video by Rose

As the night was coming to a end the crowd erupted with an encore which Bush delivered flawlessly. With the lights illuminating Gavin he preformed swallowed.

Closing the last night of their 5 week tour they played Come Down. If you have ever seen the psychological thriller Fear starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg this is the song that played during their second date at the pool hall.

Truly a night I will never forget with awesome people I met. I look forward to sharing more experiences with you. As always I appreciate you taking the time to read my posts, stay weird my friends and until next time.

  • 5/7/2026 Saw The Musical photographed by Rose

NASHVILLE! HORROR FANS AND THEATER KIDS UNITE!

You really don’t want to miss this side splitting jaw dropping parody masterpiece. Don’t fret my friends you can still grab a seat but time is running out! Click the link for show times Saw The Musical

I’m perusing around on Instagram and an ad pops up “SAW THE MUSICAL!” I instantly was intrigued and I just knew I had to buy a ticket to witness this with my own eyes. I am a huge fan of all things dark and twisted and you know what I never was big on musicals but now as I’m older, I have a new admiration for them.

I wasn’t sure what to expect upon arriving. I am still new to Nashville and feel as though there are so many gems here to uncover.

Saw The musical was held at The Barbershop Theater which is an independent local venue that is a creative hub for independent resident companies such as the Street Theatre and Verge Theater Company. If it’s one thing you should know about me is I whole heartedly and very loudly love supporting local artists and businesses. I encourage you always to support anything and everything local. When you support local artists/ businesses you are helping your community thrive, creating local jobs and really making your community have a unique identity. Did you know for every $100 you spend locally about roughly $68 stays in the local economy helping strengthen the tax base and supporting local services. Not to mention you are also helping reducing environmental impact. If we can support one another by spending out money local we can build stronger and more connected communities. I don’t know about you but local businesses just feel more real and I’d rather be supporting someone’s dream that has a true passion than a cookie cutter chain that’s just in it for the profit. Okay my rant is over.

    BACK TO THE MUSICAL

There was plenty of free parking, finding a spot wasn’t overwhelming. The outside was decorated and you were able to have a photo op moment! Just don’t go in the tub!

The main focus of the parody was the opening scene reimagined from the original Saw movie when Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight were chained. From the set, lighting, sound and choreography it was absolutely excellent. It was an eerie set that’s for sure!

    Photographed by Rose

The Barbershop Theater is an intimate venue which I love because you feel more connected with the artist, you can see and hear everything perfectly. The comedic twist was absolutely genius. The whole audience was laughing at every delivery. This was well written and the energy from the actors kept you locked in and engaged. Which by the way, I bought tickets for the second row which included a squeaky pig that was an interactive keepsake for the show! You can also get tickets that include the splash zone.

Ah! Also during the show they had the pig mask (which quite frankly is freaky in person to see) you know the pig mask in Saw that Amanda wears to disguise herself yeah that one! One of the best parts is Jigsaw being a hand-and-rod puppet! I wonder if someone from the production created him. I loved how Jigsaw had a musical number about wanting to play a game.

You know how I mentioned there was a splash zone.. well as you know in SAW Dr.Gordon well you know saws his foot off.. they reenacted that moment and there’s fake blood (that smells like cherry) that the actor pops at random bursts in the designated splash zone. There are ponchos available as well as merchandise!

They had coffee mugs with the Musical logo, tote bags, earrings, collectible cards, t-shirts and even a little pig with hair. There were also refreshments and they had my favorite fridge cigarette aka Diet Coke. I don’t want to give too much away and highly recommend you see this for yourself! You won’t regret it!

  • Recap
    Photographed by Rose

Nashville!! How was your weekend, did you end up going to the pickle festival, did you pick up a free comic book for national comic book day, or did you dabble in something else? Let me fill you in on last week’s recap.

After a long day of work it was time to decompress and treat myself to some live music.

Wednesday night it was not only my first time attending The Basement, it was also my first time seeing Wes Parker. Eva Cassel started the night off by serenading everyone with her effortless vocals. You really need to go check her out right now!

I found out about Wes Parker through a Tiktok video of Wes portraying a Crust Punk character named Skunk. Skunk is a sweet and out of pocket sweet soul that’ll definitely capture your heart. Skunk reminds me of a friend I had growing up back home in NY.

Wes Parker is a VA based indie rock artist whose vocals are absolutely soothing and has a relaxing tone to his voice. The whole sound and vibe of his art feels like one big comfy sweater. Anytime is a great time to listen to Wes Parker. In particular I throw on his album when I’m going for a long drive, it really amplifies the scenic routes. I look forward to Wes Parker’s solo EP Super Rare which will be released June 5th, 2026.

    Thursday

On Thursday I drove over to Cheba Hut for the Take Our Tickets Tour hosted by 102.9 The Buzz. If you’re not listening to your local radio station then what the hell are ya doing?!

Anyway, I was debating on going because Thursdays and really busy and can be quite chaotic (I work in a kitchen and have been in the service industry 15 plus years now.) A little bit of doubt entered my mind and I was like yeah no. Even if I don’t win I’m getting out and doing something and who knows maybe I’ll make new friends and at least I could say I tried. For every doubt that enters my mind lately I challenge myself to just commit and do it.

The parking lot of Emery Commons was packed! I circled the parking lot twice no luck. I drove down a side street, it was looking promising until I realized how far away it was. My anxiety was creeping in and the stir of “what if’s” started to loop and just like STFU AND BE POSITIVE DAMMIT! I enter the parking lot again and boom there was a spot!

I walk up to the table write my information on a entry ticket and waited with excitement to see if I would have luck of the draw! Every 20 minutes they pulled about 10 names. If your name was called you walked over to a table where they had a ton of concerts to choose from.

The Take Our Tickets Tour started at 5-pm and went until 7pm. My name wasn’t called on the first round and I was getting hangry. I walked inside Chēba Hut when the tour was being hosted for a bite. I recently stropped eating meat just because of personal reasons and was delighted to see vegetarian options. I ended up getting the power plant on a toasted garlic and herb sub which had Guacamole, hummus, feta, spring mix, tomato, onion, pickle, cucumber, shrooms, black olive, green bell pepper, Shake & House dressing on it. You can also choose a jalapeño hummas, keep that in mind if you try it. Also I was able to sub out my chips for a in-house sweet treat, I went with the Fruity Krispy which is a fruity pebbles rice krispy. For a drink I said F*** it and went with a nostalgic classic, Blue Raspberry lemonade Kool-Aid. Okay let me stop because my mouth is salivating.

After I get everything I’m chowing down outside enjoying the atmosphere listening to music and then DUN DUN ITS TIME FOR ROUND TWO! A couple names get called and then I hear “Taylor-Rose!” And I’m like “oh Sh** that’s me!” Now I’m at the table and the choices I had in mind are gone! But in the wise words of French Montana “DON’T PANIC.” Looking at the concerts that were left I’m like “okay I’ve seen them, I’m going to see this artist this summer, ah aah PANIC!!! I ended up going with Bush! On May 15th I will be at First Bank Amphitheater singing my heart out.

Let me tell you the crowd was lively. It was nice to see everyone clap and cheer on the winners. I also really love how 102.9 The Buzz plays local artists as well. Be sure to check on their website on the Locals Only tab to get familiar with the artists amongst you. For instance they play a song by Glass Lands. I wish I could remember the song, all I know is that their melodic and heavy vocals hooked me.

    Saturday

At the East Side Bowl, Pro Wrestling Symphony held their Blinding Lights Event. There was also an after party at the Up Down. I wasn’t able to attend the after party but next time I definitely will.

I previously saw Pro Wrestling Symphony when I shot for The Pretty Ravens at the East Nashville Beer Festival. So when I saw they were going to be in the area again I just had to go.

These pro wrestlers have such a passion for what they do. You can see it in how they curate their outfits, personas and just the skill it takes to know how to land a move correctly and even getting thrown down onto the ring is really noteworthy all on its own. I really have respect for these athletes because I can’t even imagine jumping off the top rope onto someone else. Even though I really just want to belly flop on the ring just to experience the feeling. I know I know a belly flop isn’t ideal but can’t a girl dream?!

This time around seeing Pro Wrestling Symphony was extra special. I took my children with me for a family night out and wow it was a night to remember! My daughter was absolutely thrilled to see women wrestlers throwing down in the ring. My daughter said “MOM THERES GIRLS WRESTLERS! GIRLE CAN WRESTLE TOO?!” I replied to her said “well of course! Girls can do anything my love!” Sigrid VS Ravenna Vein opened up a new world for her! My son also thoroughly enjoyed wrestling as well. With every rumble of the ring he was in awe and absolutely loved cheering on for Adrian Thomas.

When purchasing your ticket you can choose standing or ring side. We went with ring side seats. I did warn both my children that it could be a possibility a wrestler accidentally knocking into the barricade and to be aware and reminded them through the event.

After the first 6 matches it was time for the PWS championship match Jeremiah Plunkett VS Colby Carter. The match had you glued with every toss and throw down!

Then towards the end after Plunkett lost he toyed with your emotions! He got me good I said wow what showman ship congratulating Colby and then once you hooked on deception BOOM chaos erupted! Shoes went flying refs were thrown right, left, up, down every where! Bodies were flying, it was insane! At one point Plunkett flung Colby he landed outside of the ring and his ankle in between the barricade which accidentally tapped my daughter’s arm. It all happened so fast! I look over at her and then the silent build up to a scream erupted. I pulled her away from the crowd everyone stops in shock.

My old EMT skills come in for a quick assessment and once she said she was okay and I knew she was okay I grabbed both her wrists and flipped them high to the sky and said “ SHES OKAY!!” The crowd cheers and the match continued. I think she was more scared than hurt I mean being 5 years old and having a wrestlers foot coming at ya in a blink of an eye would startle anybody!

I really do have to emphasize my thanks and appreciation to everyone that worked at the event and made sure she was okay during and after. Things happen and this was an accident. She wasn’t seriously hurt and I’m their mother and knew what the possibilities of something like this happening was.

Honestly that night I believe we all witnessed my daughter’s origin story. The next morning my daughter wakes up walks into my room and asks “When’s the next match?”

Thank you for reading, please check out Pro Wrestling Symphony and attend Their next event on June 6th 3pm at the Fit Expo which will be held at The Fairgrounds in Nashville.

Remember to shop, listen and buy local! It keeps the community alive.

  • Nashville!! I’m still reminiscing about last Saturday, what a time! I am absolutely grateful for the opportunity to shoot for Pretty Ravens at East Nashville Beer Festival on 4/11/26. That weekend there was a lot going on in Nashville and I hope you were able to make it!

Approximately 50 local, regional, and national craft breweries attended to provide unique flavors to patrons, live music performed by Pretty Ravens that had the crowd jamming out that was filled with a sea of smiles and dancing. Pro Wrestling Symphony had a outside ring with high energy matches that kept you entertained between sets which I absolutely loved! Local artists had vendor booths set up that displayed their talents along with delicious food trucks, you need to check out IMMEDIATELY. The delicious 7

If it’s anything about me I strongly support local businesses/artist and it made my heart happy to see people supporting everyone.

The set up had a great flow, Pretty Ravens would play a couple songs then take a break then it was time for the full throttle action of Pro Wrestling Symphony. I didn’t have photo access to ring side but that didn’t stop me from taking some gnarly action shots. With every slam on the ring, slap to the chest, and wrestlers flying from the top ropes the crowd was filled with gasps and hilarious commentary. I’ve always wanted to throw myself on the ring to see what it feels like and to make that nostalgic rumbling sound of the ring. Ah one day, It’s on my bucket list of things to check off. Also there was an interactive aspect of the festival where you could play corn hole and play ping pong!

Upon arriving all ID’s were checked to ensure everyone with a valid drivers license was of legal age to consume alcohol, that their ticket matched their name and Xs were marked on designated drivers. This could be unbeknownst to you if you haven’t worked in the service industry, and I only want to emphasize this because of remarks I heard while waiting on line. You may “look” old enough to drink but there are heavy penalties, fines, and even jail time people serving you alcohol can face if they don’t check the criteria they need to ensure proper identification for consumption of alcohol.

Now, after confirming all criteria was correct you were handed a souvenir drinking cup. This allowed you to hops around different crafted beer vendors and try any crafted beer of your choice! See what I did there? hops like the hops in beer haha. One of my favorite samples was from Untitled Art . They have an array of flavors and styles. From crafted hops, hard seltzers, D-9 THC soda, sparkling CBD water, and even non alcoholic beer. 10/10, I would highly suggest trying any of their bold crisp and refreshing flavors. Other breweries I was able to stop by for a sip were Appalachian Mountain Brewing, Crazy Gnome Brewery/ Cyanide Cider, East Nashville Beer Works, Honey Tree Meadery, and Stoke Haus to name a few. Which crafted beers did you try and like best? You can check out more here East Nashville Beer Fest .

The whole energy of the Festival was filled with nonstop good vibes. Every encounter I had was full of smiles, jokes, and just overall a good time. Being behind the camera and capturing moments of people enjoying themselves really filled my heart with pure happiness. People celebrating birthdays, rejoicing with friends/families to even a proposal! As I was exploring I saw a crowd of people stop in their tracks and locked in on a couple. Curious I look over and see a man on one knee proposing to his future bride! I was able to capture this beautiful moment. I did see another photographer and wasn’t sure if they were there specifically for that couple or happened to be at the right place at the right time. I never want to step on anyone’s toes and always try to be mindful of the crowd and other photographers. I’m all about working together and sharing spaces. When I move from a spot I look around to see who’s next to me and let them know to get in there for a better view. Especially me standing tall at 5’1” I’m always looking out for my fellow shorties!

In all of you weren’t able to make it out on that beautiful Saturday I highly suggest next year you attend. Even if you go by yourself without a doubt you will be making new friends.

A huge thanks to Pretty Ravens for inviting me, East Nashville Beer Festival for putting together such a fun event, Crafted beer vendors that provided endless tasty flavors, security that ensured everyone’s safety, to the local artist giving life an extra sparkle, to the food vendors that kept our tummies full, the wrestlers that kept the crowd buzzing and to everyone involved to make this happen, thank you.

  • Saturday night was totally tubular!

“Every Thing You Ever Productions” held a New Wave Prom Night at Eastside bowl. Which check this out, it’s a retro bowling alley that’s also a venue! I’ve mentioned this venue before but incase you’re new here I’ll give you the low down. Located in the Madison, Tennessee this 16 lane bowling alley has vintage arcade games, a lounge where you can order beverages and you can also snag a bite to eat. You don’t need to fret about parking because there is plenty. This bowling alley use to be a K-Mart.

There were over 70 people in groups that are also local artist that turned back time bringing the sound and essence of the 80’s. Hits from B52s, soft cell, talking heads, tears for fears and so much more were played live. When you walked into the venue it really felt like you have arrived at prom. Silver fringed streamers were draped all around the balcony section railings, a huge disco ball reflected light as it spun slowly , a photo booth with a balloon arch and don’t forget the themed drinks!

Everyone that attended was dressed to impress. Unfortunately in the midst of making sure my gear was packed and running a few errands before hand I FORGOT MY DRESS! I know I know but that’s pretty on brand for me and I’m not surprised. I thrifted the perfect 80s floral dress that even had shoulder pads! Luckily I had a spare outfit packed and threw that on. I absolutely love attending themed parties so it was a complete bummer that I wasn’t dressed for the theme but there will be a next time and I’m wearing that dress!

I would like to highlight that all proceeds went to benefit MusiCares. MusiCares is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing mental health/recovery services, health services for those in need during a medical crisis and human services that help those in the music industry with basic living expenses. Thanks to all who attended, New Wave Prom raised $2,205 in just one night! Your contributions are supporting those in the music industry all around the United States. NASHVILLLE! It has been way too long, how is everyone?! I hope all is well, my apologies for the hiatus. With everything going on in the world it honestly has been very overwhelming. I needed to disconnect for a bit and gather myself back together. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that my stories have been active and informative with dustings of humorous memes here and there but not so much posting. I just find it difficult to create when the world feels upside down. However, Art is a form of expression and resistance. Writing on this blog and creating what I perceive as art is a healthy outlet and at times for some reason I tend to think it is selfish when the news in the world is devastating. I really dislike when I become reclusive as I have been lately.

Luckily to help break me out of my shell I came across a post from Fascination Street saying “Fascination Street post-punk/ darkwave traditional goth/ deathrock new/current/ classic.. Goth Prom into the Labyrinth.” A picture of Jareth (David Bowie) and Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) from the Iconic 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth had my mind spinning with creative ideas. Fascination street also added inspo pictures to their slide that included scenes from Legend and what forever gave me nightmares as a child “The Dark Crystal.” Those Skeksis froze me with fear as a child and still scare me till this day. Ugh I miss the craftmanship of animatronics/puppetry and SFX makeup that were used in movies. Watching movies like that growing up had me enthralled. I felt immensely submerged in the creative fantasy world that was being portrayed on screen.

My mind surged with ideas on what to wear/create. At first I thought OOO a fairy that Hoggle sprayed would be fun! Then Legend sparked inspiration then it was Trad Goth that came to mind and then I thought lets hit the thrift and find something vintage! When my mind gets a spark, the creative fire is unstoppable and it was at that moment it was declared I need to invest in a sewing machine. I was on the hunt for that whimsy iridescent material in a dress for recreating Sarah’s Ball gown, that would be fun! I wanted all the poof in the dress and hair, followed by body glittery LOTS OF GLITTER, elf ears and fairy inspired makeup! I couldn’t decide and time was fleeting. I thought maybe that would be too over the top and settled for my black layered tulle skirt paired with my leopard half corset with a long sleeve fishnet top underneath it. I wore fishnet stockings and chunky heel boots. I teased my hair to the moon and kept it somewhat tamed with a headband that had white bows on it and my purse omg I love this purse! It is a bucket purse that is velvet leopard print with black feathers around the rim of the opening! I scored that at the thrift a while back and is one of my FAVORITE treasures! My makeup was my usual smokey eye and for my lips I used black eyeliner and buffed the harsh lines blended in some brown and coated a red lipstick on top and voila makeups done.

    Back to Fascination Street…

The Goth prom was held at Eastside Bowl and yes, it is actually a bowling alley! Eastside bowl has three performance areas. 1. The Wash – Full size stage and a smaller intimate stage 2. The ’58- this area holds a 255 capacity 3. Low Volume Lounge- The ” neighborhood stage.” Fun fact Eastside Bowl is built inside of an old K-Mart! tickets were $12 adv and $15 at the door. I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance this night was packed. Prom started at 9pm and went until 3am with music spun by DJ Ichabod & Baron Von Birk. No need to fret about parking there is tons of it. Me personally when I have a night out I prefer to uber/lyft incase I’d like to have a bit of an adult bubbly beverage. Which I believe Goth Prom was held in the main area The Wash, this was my first time here and it wasn’t till after I found out about the other staging areas. I’ll be seeing Spite perform here in June and can’t wait to be back at this venue for it!

This was exactly what I needed to help break my shell and yoink me out of the funk. EVERYONE was dressed up! I was so intrigued by everyone’s creative and well put together outfits! I regret not taking more photos! I was having a literally ball dancing around and catching glimpses of the Goblins casted up in the booth. lights were wrapped around the top railing which was a nice touch ( this main stage area has 2 levels which include a bar upstairs too). The Main stage had mannequins Of The Goblin King himself and Sarah. There was a scene that looped Labyrinth all night, a fog machine that set a eerie ambiance. There were also themed drinks and a prom photo back drop that you were able to take pictures of have them taken by the photographer they had there! Lets revisit the themed drinks shall we?! I first tried the Poison Peach that’s cocktail base was peach vodka, then I tried Not Just A Worm that had tequila base, and lastly I tried The Magic Dance which had a coconut almond rum base. I should’ve tried Bowies Bulge but I wasn’t daring enough for Bourbon. One of my favorite parts about this night was that I stumbled upon a photo booth. CHEF KISS this is one of my FAVORITE additions any place can have in my opinion. Honestly yeah sure your phone can take a picture BLAH BLAH BLAH SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE AND GET YOUR A** IN THERE AND MAKE SOME GD MEMORIES BY SQUEEZING YOURSELF IN A PHOTO BOOTH WITH YOUR FRIENDS . You’ll have plenty of time wishing you took more photos in a booth WHEN YOURE LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER! (RIP Chris Farley). Speaking of photos, there are a few that will be posted here and if you haven’t yet, follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/_indecisivegemini/?hl=en and see some of the events/shows I attend from time to time. Stay weird my friends and until next time! Thanks for reading xoxo.

Hello Nashville! I love seeing music and community come together for a good cause! I know the political climate is very appalling right now. I just wanted to share something that will bring a little warmth and help restore some faith in humanity.

On Friday, I was able to leave work early and drive down to Marathon Music Works and help contribute to Second Harvest Food Bank. I found out about this through Marathon Music Works’ Instagram post and was overjoyed about their involvement with the community. When you donate, you can enter a raffle for a chance to win tickets to a show! I had no idea about that until I got down there. Marathon Music Works is still accepting food donations till the end of this month. On Fridays, Marathon Music Works is open from 10 am to 4 pm; I would suggest emailing them for drop-off times because they might be available during the week, but you can always donate to Second Harvest.

Second Harvest Food Bank has been helping people in Middle Tennessee since 1978! They are the largest nonprofit and hunger relief organization in the country. Second Harvest serves 46 counties across the state of Tennessee. This organization was designed to collect food that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Food from grocery stores and even farmers is collected to make sure our community is fed. Non-perishable items are recommended for donation. Any contribution helps those with food insecurity. I am a concert enthusiast; my taste in music is eclectic. Going to concerts is very special because they help me reset and become inspired. Marathon Music Works is the second venue I have attended since moving here. I saw Crosses on 2/25/24 (which is a side project formed by Chino Moreno from Deftones, which is my favorite band). I remember being filled with excitement and waiting in line, anticipating the layout of the venue and fell in love once I walked through the doors. So, seeing a venue I love help out with the community made me have even more respect for Marathon Music Works. Also up until recently I was utilizing food banks to help provide for my family so this really hits home for me.

I was married for 4 years, and during those four years, I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom. However, the marriage did not work out; I went through my savings spending it on a divorce lawyer and bills I was forced to pay with no income to replenish my finances. I moved from Florida with two children and my dog, Gizmo, to live with a family member here in the beautiful state of Tennessee. Not being employed for four years really put a damper on looking for ways to earn income. I was determined to get back into the workforce no matter what the job was. I really wanted to steer away from the restaurant industry because I was burnt out from it. Ironically enough, that is where an opportunity met me with open arms. However, one job wasn’t enough, so I started working a second job because daycare and living expenses aren’t cheap. Then that job didn’t work out, and I needed to move out. I was delivering food until I could find something that would work with my children’s schedule. I tried applying for assistance, and every time I was denied. Frantically looking for work and hitting every dead end was immensely overwhelming. I couldn’t give up; no matter how hard it was to stay afloat, I always pushed my limits until I pretty much pushed myself to the edge. The last time I was denied assistance, I cried right there in the DHS office. I was only doing Uber Eats and Door Dash and I was not on any type of assistance, so I was perplexed at the fact that my children and I didn’t qualify for food stamps or any type of assistance. That is when a DHS worker handed me a paper with resources from food pantries, hot meals, clothing, and other ways to obtain necessities. That is when I became very aware of the community and the helpful resources they provide for families. I just want you to know that you’ll need to put your pride aside. Something I’ve learned is that it is okay to accept help when you need it. Not being able to do something isn’t a forever thing; it’s only temporary. As long as you keep moving forward, you will be okay. I promise you everything will be okay; you know why? Because you want better for yourself. When you want better for yourself, you’ll strive to do better. It won’t happen overnight; please be kind and patient with yourself. Remember that building a strong foundation takes time. Doors will close, but other doors will open, and when a door closes think of it as you are being redirected to another door that is meant for you. Please try to remain optimistic, especially during tough times. Remaining optimistic and positive has really gotten me through tough times. Especially when you have children because I’m not just responsible for myself; they depend on me; failure isn’t an option.

I remember my first time going to a food bank, and honestly, I felt embarrassed, ashamed, and nervous. I guess that was the pride echoing in my head. “Am I going to be judged? How does this work? Was it a bad move to bring my children? Should I have come when they were at school?” All of these questions raced through my head, but once those food pantry doors opened, I was met with a smile and a warm greeting. The only question asked was, “How many people are in your family?” and of course, my eyes welled up with tears as I said thank you. I guess getting over that first interaction and it being a good experience allowed myself to accept the help for my family and me. So please, if you’re reading this and are in need of food or any assistance, do not feel ashamed or embarrassed. Look into your community, call churches, community centers for help, or stop by your local DHS office to help direct you for any type of assistance. There are still good people out there helping others, and that is a beautiful thing. Thank you for reading this, take care and stay weird.

Special Thanks to Marathon Music Works, Second Harvest Food Bank and Drew from Marathon Music Works for communicating drop off times and for a wonderful chat on Friday.

  • Steve-O At The Belcourt Theatre
    Photographed by Rose

    Friday January 9,2026

This past weekend at The Belcourt Theatre was a blast from the past! There was a midnight screening of Jackass The Movie in 35mm film. All who attended were in for a special experience while THEE Steve-O came out to introduce the movie! I was beside myself and call me naive but when my friend sent me the post that Steve-O was introducing the film I 100% expected that it was just going to be a video clip of him introducing the movie rather than him actually being there! It really was great to hear Steve-O reminisce about his Jackass days and I know, who am I but it just makes me so proud of him to hear that he over came the obstacles in his life and became the person who he is today. What he said was just so relatable. This isn’t verbatim, in short he said something along the lines of “I don’t know who that person was back then.” Let me tell you the person I am today wouldn’t be friends with the person I was 10 years ago. That’s one of the beauty’s in life, we are able to create a new path for ourselves at any given moment. We could really go down a rabbit hole with this one but I think I will save that for another day.

Getting back to Jackass The Movie, This came out in 2002! THAT’S 24 YEARS AGO! Stop it right now because what do you mean, I was 11 when this came out?! I remember my older brother and his friends trying to reenact some of the Jackass stunts or create their own. I honestly forgot how some of these stunts made me squirm. I always had a strong stomach but I’m second guessing that now. When they were gagging in the movie I was right behind them internally feeling like I was going to upchuck in the theater. I was able to keep my composure though and no upchucking happened. My goodness seeing this at 34 and thinking JFC would you tightrope in a gator pit with nothing but a jockstrap, helmet, and a piece of raw chicken hanging out your backside?! That is absolutely outlandish but it still made me gasp, cringe and laugh. I also read that there will be a Jackass 5 coming to theaters June 26, 2026 will you be attending? I can’t wait to see the chaotic humor and crude stunts they have been working on. With that being said I’m going to go dive in my DVD’s and look for another Jackass movie to watch and swan dive into my CD collection to look for my H.I.M cd to really amplify the nostalgia. Take care and stay weird.

Also I would like to add in this was my first time attending The Belcourt Theatre and most certainly wont be my last! If you haven’t yet I’d suggest that you go on over and take a peak at this non-profit film center that shows independent films, documentary, repertory and classic cinema. There is a parking lot and make sure you arrive early for a spot. You can also obtain a parking voucher to put on your dash board. Of course they have the classic movie theater snacks as well as soft drinks, wine, and beer. To find out more click the link https://www.belcourt.org/

  • Happy Nu-Year!

Happy belated New Year! According to Larry David the cutoff is January 7th, if you know you know. However, on January 3rd I had the utmost honor of spending the first weekend of 2026 taking photos of Nashville’s Nu-metal tribute bands at The Basement East. Here was the lineup. The opener was a high energy get your blood flowing tribute band to System of a Down! If you’re asking “did they play Chop-Suey?” oh yeah they did! The crowd got absolutely rowdy the whole room was filled with static as everyone sang along. They were so good that at one point I joined the crowd to submerge myself in the moment and then I was like WHOOP I need to get back to taking photos!

The second set hits home for me. Shake My Tomb pays tribute to my personal favorite Deftones. They covered all the classics which raged my brain with nostalgia. Shake My Tomb performed “Change” which that song will forever have me in a chokehold. Deftones has been such a huge part of my life especially in my adolescence. I was fortunate enough to see Shake My Tomb perform last year and I just knew Deftones fans that were attending that night were in for a special treat.

Then comes the headliner, Karrot! Karrot does a phenomenal job not only performing but bringing the essence of Korn right to you! They didn’t have bagpipes but instead they had a melodica! When they performed “Got the Life” I’m pretty sure everyone in The Basement East was singing along. From the vocals, mannerisms to the lead vocalist even having a wardrobe change from the Adidas tracksuit to a kilt, iconic. I heard someone say “Did he just change into a kilt?!” The crowd was so lively and into everyone’s set! Even mosh pits broke out which warmed my heart. That’s the thing about music/shows is seeing everyone together sharing the same interest and just having fun!

This show had something exceptionally special. Shannon from Serpent and Sage tattoo was there with a unique flash dedicated to all of the nu metal bands. Shannon also had other selections for people to choose from which caught my eye. At one point when I was changing my POV I stopped and looked and was like mmhm YUP I forever need that on my body engraved in ink! Which reminds me I need to book an appointment with her ASAP. I chatted with an attendee who was wearing a Deftones shirt told me it was their first time there and later on I saw them getting inked and popped on over there out of curiosity and they showed me they went with The Ohms album cover and get this, it was their first tattoo! How amazing is that?!

I suggest you go check out and follow the tribute bands’ socials so you don’t miss out the next time they come out to play!

I personally would like to thank John Nicholson for gracing me with the opportunity to take photos for the Happy Nu-Years4 show, to all the bands, The Basement East, Low Bar, all the awesome people I met, and all those involved to make this happen! Take care and stay weird🤘🏻
