NASHVILLE!! If you think Country music is the only scene in Nashville I would like to inform you, you’re wrong.
Nashville has an array of dark wave/ industrial/ Hardcore/metal.. welp it’s all here. I mean this IS music city.

Thursday 5.21.26 was my first time at The East Room and it’s an intimate yet spacious venue with a raised stage and loft area. Parking.. you’re better offer taking a uber but you’ll be able to find something within walking distance. I honestly park right next door at the subway, just not in the spots that are specifically reserved for subway customers.
There is also a smoking area in the back that has some seating so you can step out for a smoke or fresh air. Also next door you have to check out Hail Dark Aesthetics. Go for the oddities, antiques and don’t forget to check out their mini museum! I buy my incense here and love attending their night markets. Back to the Nashville based artis. Mourning Candle and God in Rehab joined Oudi on her Empathy For Hire Tour on 5.21.26. I’ve listened to Oudi and if you haven’t you need to right now, she’ll be your new obsession with her goth pop and dark synths. And this night was full of synths!

I fell in love with Mourning Candle the definitely opened the bat cave with their spooky dark synths, it’ll make you want to do the Graveyard Shuffle. The rising duo are vocalist/lyricist Leslie Irene Benson and guitarist/composer Anson Taylor. To start I would recommend listening to NOS4A2 AND Sycophants explore more on your own and leave me a comment which one you like best! UGH I just love when music literally makes me move. I am also a big fan of when music just gives me chills. I am always chasing that feeling and its only been very select songs that do that. Have you experienced anything like that let me know in the comments I am curious. https://www.instagram.com/mourningcandle/

Next Oudi performed and was so excited to see her! I first discovered Oudi at New Wave Prom night that was held at Eastside Bowl. Once I heard her sing it was a done deal for me! Oudi has powerful melodic vocals and your new obsession. If you like industrial pop, synth, and gothic drama with a cinematic dark-pop sound then you will appreciate and enjoy Oudi. She is also fun to photograph because she is very theatrical and has a great demanding yet flowing energy stage presence. Oudi is currently on tour and you don’t want to miss out. Oudi has a new single ” Only tattoo” that you need to listen to IMMEDIATLY. The start of the song sounds like a old film rolling which for me metaphorically is replaying old memories. I feel like everyone can relate to this song. Its stuck in my head now ” YOUR FACE IS FADING LIKE MY ONLY, TATTOO. SCARES ME TO DEATH I MIGHT FORGET YOU!” She also did a cover live of #1 Crush by Garbage that I need on my playlist STAT!

God In Rehab closed out the night with their moody soundscapes and electronic and industrial frequencies. Imagine a blend of Depeche Mode and Nine inch Nails just effortlessly swirling together to combined both elements of Dark wave and industrial. It is always a pleasure to see local Nashville artis pouring their creativity and soul on to the stage, to put the sounds in their head into our ears is something special and I will always appreciate.
